NEW PROJECTS
Determination of Percentage of Lime Required for Lime Stabilization of Various Types of Clay Soils of Tamil Nadu

Date of Start: June 2004
Highways Research Station, Chennai (R,I)

Scope and objectives

To find out the optimum quantity of lime required for stabilize a particular clay soil by assessing its pH value.

Methodology
Different proportions of lime will be added to the samples and the samples will be tested to find out its strength and pH.

Significance / Utilisation Potential
Optimum quantity/ percentage of lime required to stabilize a particular soil is to be ascertained to get expected result / performance when lime stabilization is carried out.
